Secret #1: Humans respond to scarcity. Adding “Limited time offer” or “For the first 100 who respond” has been proven to improve ROI dramatically.

Secret #2: Certain words trigger human response. Research shows that using the words Free, New and Guaranteed as well as a personalized message can increase your marketing ROI substantially.

Secret #3: People buy for emotional reasons, then rationalize their purchase with logic. For example. Burglar alarm companies will sell based on the emotion of fear rather than a series of logical features.

Secret #4: Humans respond to the principle of reciprocity. It’s a natural instinct for humans to give something in return when they get something, which is why one of the best ways to sell something is to give something away for free.

Secret #5: Certain visual devices trigger human response. Dotted lines around coupons will increases response rate – even though research shows that most consumers no longer cut coupons.
